Currently, Marianne Dhenin is a contributing writer at Truthout. From 2023 until the magazine sunset in 2025, they were a contributing writer at Yes! Magazine. Marianne’s reporting has also appeared in The Baffler, The New Republic, Teen Vogue, Noema Magazine, and elsewhere.

Awards

Marianne received a grant from The Fund for Investigative Journalism in 2026 to report on suicide and mental health crises in Immigration and Customs Enforcement jails.

The Gulf World that Air Conditioning Wrought, published in Noema Magazine, was awarded the 2026 Southern California Journalism Award for Best Criticism of Visual Arts, Design, or Architecture and was runner-up for the 2026 Southern California Journalism Award for Best Online Feature on Visual Arts, Design, or Architecture.

The Rise and Fall of a North African Wine Giant, published in Wine Enthusiast, was selected as a finalist for the 2023 International Association of Culinary Professionals Food Writing Award for Best Narrative Beverage Writing

Palestine and the West Bank Agricultural Struggle, published in Life & Thyme, was awarded the 2021 International Association of Culinary Professionals Food Writing Award for Best Narrative Food Writing and was nominated for a 2022 James Beard Foundation Media Award for Best Investigative Reporting.
